(Lynnfield, MA) — Congressional candidate Richard Tisei’s campaign has launched a new microsite which explains in detail the call for a formal investigation into John Tierney’s false Financial Disclosure filings. The site includes transcripts from court proceedings, all of Congressman Tierney’s Financial Disclosure reports, and pertinent investigative reports from the Boston Globe and New York Times. Tisei joined Common Cause and the Center for Responsive Politics, both highly respected, non-partisan good government groups, in calling for a formal investigation into Tierney’s Financial Disclosure reports.
“I want the voters to be able to see a website that collects truthful and accurate information aimed at transparency. John Tierney isn’t going to give that to the voters, but I will,” said Tisei. “I also want the voters to understand why I’m calling for a formal Ethics Committee investigation into John Tierney’s false reports. He didn’t report spousal income and he’s required to by law. John and Patrice Tierney also have to pay taxes on income like the rest of us. If there’s one rule for him and one rule for everyone else, that’s not right. It’s time for him to stop throwing mud and to come clean on what he’s been doing for years – concealing spousal income and probably not paying taxes on it. Let him release his tax returns now and we can all see if he and Patrice filed jointly and whether they paid taxes on that income. And it was income.”
