The Swampscott and Marblehead Republican Town Committees were host to Richard Tisei on Monday evening, Feb. 13th, at the VFW in Marblehead.
Richard is the Republican candidate for Congress to represent the 6th District running against incumbent Democrat John Tierney. A member of the Swampscott Republican Town Committee, former gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker provided opening remarks and introduced Richard who ran as his lieutenant governor candidate in 2010.
The public was invited to the free event and there was a large and diverse crowd gathered to meet the candidate and ask questions of concern in our community.
As a former state representative and state senator, Richard Tisei detailed his extensive background in public life and his knowledge of the issues affecting our district and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Senator Tisei welcomed input from the audience during a question-and-answer session, covering many important topics from healthcare to taxes to national defense.
The Swampscott and Marblehead Republican Town Committees will host future meetings together in coming months with featured speakers of interest. Next month we welcome radio personality Jeff Katz of Talk 1200, and the public is welcome to attend.
