Richard R. Tisei will release his first television advertisement, a soft biographical spot, Wednesday morning as he ­attempts to unseat US Representative John F. Tierney in the state’s most competitive House race.

The ad shows Tisei, a Wakefield realtor who has served as the top Republican in the State Senate, talking about his personal and professional connection to the congressional district. Between the close-up shots of the candidate are images of the seaport in Gloucester and of Tisei shaking hands in a diner.

Massachusetts: Richard Tisei Launches First TV Ad

Republican Richard Tisei, who is challenging eight-term Rep. John Tierney (D), launched his first television ad of the campaign today, Roll Call has learned.

Titled “The District,” the spot is biography-based and backed by upbeat music and a $43,000 weeklong buy on targeted cable stations in the district, which is likely to be expanded.

“I’ve met thousands of people throughout this district,” the former state Senator and 2010 GOP nominee for lieutenant governor narrates over images of him campaigning. “I went to school in this district. I own a small business in this district.”

MASSACHUSETTS GOP HOUSE CONTENDER LAUNCHES FIRST TV AD. Richard Tisei, the Republican candidate running in the 6th Congressional District of Massachusetts launches his first TV ad buy of the cycle today. The ad, titled “The District” is the first of a $43,000 cable ad buy. Tisei, whose race has gained national attention in part because he is an openly gay Republican candidate, is challenging Rep. John Tierney. The race is seen as the best shot for Republicans to pick up a House seat in Democrat heavy Massachusetts.
